SUSTAINABILITY

How sharing your hantaran can save the earth

As consumers in the artificial flower market, we rarely think about the consequences of having beautiful flowers decorate all the weddings and wedding gift such as the hantaran perkahwinan or be a small gesture of love and thanks. When taken care of properly, your artificial flowers last for years but are typically thrown away or given away when they get dusty after sitting in a corner at home, producing more plastic trash and didn't optimize their lifespan in our human society.

Our mission at CintaKucing is to help reduce floral waste and the carbon footprint the artificial/plastic flower industry leaves behind. Sharing your hantaran flowers with another couples reduces the amount of fuel, water and marine life harm being used without sacrificing the quality of the flowers.

Fuel waste. Majority of the artificial flowers sold in the world come from other countries - the main manufacturers and suppliers are in China. Imagine the amount of fuel being used to ship the flowers in and the costs in transit and at flowers shops to keep them in storage.

Water pollution. The production of artificial/plastic flowers require a huge amount of water for colour dye and drainage which seriously pollutes our water resources.

Marine life harm. We know plastics items can take up to 1000 years to decompose. Artificial flowers may take anywhere from 10 years and above to decompose.
